Advisor to Kazakh President appointed as ambassador to Georgia

By a decree of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev Yertysbayev Yermukhamet Kabidinovich has been appointed as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Georgia. Earlier Yertysbayev served as presidential adviser on political issues of the country.

Yertysbayev (born on Nov.19, 1956) is a statesman of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, and former adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on political issues. In 2006-2008 he was minister of culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 On March 27, 2006 Ministry of Culture, Information and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan was split into the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and on March 28 by a decree of the President of Kazakhstan, Yermukhamet Yertysbayev was appointed as Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

After a series of scandals with the press he was dismissed from the office and by an order dated May 12, 2008, he was appointed as adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
