Second death from flu reported in Kazakhstan

A second laboratory-confirmed death of influenza reported in Kazakhstan,the Health Ministry of the republic said Thursday.

A 33-year-old resident of Karaganda died on January 25 from complications of influenza A (H3N2).

According to the Ministry, the woman was admitted to hospital in Karaganda on January 21 in poor health and high temperature.

Despite intensive treatment, the woman died.

Since the beginning of the seasonal influenza, 300 people were hospitalized in Kazakhstan with flu, the Ministry said.
