Official visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrissov to the Kingdom of Sweden took place on 20 March, the press service of the MFA reports. Kazakh Foreign Minister informed that Kazakhstan will open its embassy in Stockholm this year in order to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan will meet with his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt in order to discuss bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economical fields, interaction at the international scene concerning international issuances. Y.Idrissov informed that Kazakhstan will open its embassy in Stockholm this year in order to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Besides, the issues of boosting bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the development of relations in the field of telecommunications, engineering, transportation, "green" technology, the environment, have been talked over during the working breakfast attended by representatives of the business community of Sweden, working in Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh Foreign Minister urged Sweden businessmen to take full advantage of huge business cooperation's potential, favorable investment climate in Kazakhstan and the new opportunities for the joint high-tech manufacturing.
In addition, Yerlan Idrissov met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment Anders Flanking. The parties debated the interest in attracting Swedish experience and Swedish companies in Kazakhstan's field of energy efficiency, environmental protection and "green" technologies in the framework of the international exhibition "EXPO-2017" in Astana.
During the meeting with members of the Swedish Parliament the prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the development of democratic institutions in Kazakhstan have been taken into consideration.
