Parliament members call to cancel New Year parties due to plane crash mourning

Deputies believe that national mourning should be announced for the border guard officers killed in yesterday's military AN-72 plane crash in South Kazakhstan and new year parties should be cancelled in all organizations in the country.

"It's a big tragedy for the country, because militarymen and professionals died yesterday. We knew these guys well, especially Colonel Turganbek Stambekov, who is actually a professional border guard. We regret this happened. Investigation will find the reason for the incident. They say it is weather... Maybe it'd be better if we cancel company parties, as the country mourns" said Abai Tasbulatov, member of Majilis, who had once led Kazakhstan's National Guard.
