Kazakhstan Traffic Police calls drivers to honor memory of road crash victims on November 18

The RoK Traffic Police Committee proposed to all drivers to support the campaign on the day of memory of victims of road accidents on November 18 – the international day of road accidents victims, reported the p[press service of the RoK Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The RoK Traffic Police Committee proposed to all drivers to support the campaign on the day of memory of victims of road accidents on November 18. On this day all drivers are called to turn on the dim lights and at noon to signal the horns thereby honoring the victims of road accidents, - says the message.

The purpose of the campaign - to draw attention to the scale of mortality on roads, to put the issue of accident prevention in the forefront, to remember victims of road accidents and to express compassion to the families who suffered bereavement.

Also, during the period of November 11-18, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is planning to conduct a large-scale republican action “Traffic Safety Week”. It is planned to organize a number of events aimed at promotion of traffic rules awareness and prevention of traumatism on the roads.

The idea of annual day of memory of road victims came from “Road Peace” - the British charity for road crash victims. On October 26, 2005 the resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations called all member countries to recognize worldwide the world day of memory of road crash victims and to mark it on the third Sunday of November.
